About Elizabeth "Bizzy" Tober,
M.A., LPC Intern
Richardson, Texas
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Western Illinois University in 1993, an Equivalency degree in Music Therapy from Southern Methodist University in 2000, and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman's University in 2006.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern. This means that I have completed all of my classroom education and have passed the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors examination and am in the process of accruing at least 3,000 hours of supervised counseling sessions. I am also a Music Therapist - Board Certified. This means that I have completed the required coursework, have completed 1200 hours of clinical training, and have passed the Certification Board for Music Therapists examination. I have been practicing Music Therapy since 2000 with a variety of populations and ages.
I have had experience working with children, adolescents, and adults of different developmental ranges and diagnosis, in both group and individual settings. My philosophy of counseling is to meet the person at his/her level and to work with the person to meet goals important to him or herself. I believe we all have the power to change, if we so choose. My job in the therapeutic relationship is to provide an opportunity for a person to discover the possibilities within his or herself by providing a safe and supportive environment.
I am married and have two dogs, a ferret, and a bunny. To unwind, I enjoy playing soccer and tending to my zoo. I also look forward to spending time with my husband, friends, and family.
You can find out more about the training I have received should you desire additional information about my background.
If I can be of assistance to you – or your family – please contact me.
